Voice Over Class w/ CD Cheryllynn Carter

From the basics of how to get auditions and what to expect from a Voice Over audition, this course will  cover how to know your audience, developing characters and using your acting skills to perfect VO work. In an actor-friendly environment, Cheryllyn will lead you through the various stages of development in your Voice Over career.  Each week you will be working on mic and covering the various areas of the Voice Over Industry.

Week 1- Commercial Voice Over: This is the foundation for all other forms of VO. You'll gain an understanding of trends and identifying your vocal style to best market yourself.

Week 2- Audio Books & Narration: Learning to "perform" the book, the styles you may be asked to perform and the craft of audio book VO. For Documentary narration, you will learn to anticipate the direcctors and editors needs, emote the proper tone for the audience and be the glue that holds the story together.

Week 3- Animation & Interactive: It's not just about funny voices anymore. Performances need real acting, real drama, real conflict. Learn the trends, how to market, and network to your specific genre within this category.

Week 4- Promo's & Trailers: This is a niche all it's own. You'll learn to find your voice and how to market yourself for all area's of VO.  Learn everything you need to take your career in your own hands.

For beginners or those at more advanced stages, she will be able to keep your work relevant and up to date with the latest advertising trends. Join the ranks of working actors everywhere that have made Voice Over work their "bread and butter!"

Her company centers on educating and empowering voice over talent as well as marketing them to the different media forms. As president, she oversees the acquisition of all talent, coaching, marketing as well as day to day administration. She is also a creative director, casting director and producer for all audio book, and multi-media audio production. She has spoken at the Actor's Network, UCI, CLU, and UCLA.
