FAQs

Do you allow audits?

To protect the safe and supportive learning environment we believe in here at ACW, we do not allow guest to visit our classes.  Instead, we offer FREE introductory workshops before each full class begins.  You can find the upcoming schedule of free workshops by clicking here.

How do I cancel my workshop?

Please login to your free account, select ‘My Account’ (top left), then select either ‘My Orders’ or ‘My Calendar’.  Select the workshop you wish to cancel out of.  If it is more than 48 hours in advance it will allow you to ‘Request Voucher’.  This voucher will then appear in ‘My Vouchers’.  Please see our policies page for regulations by clicking here.

How do I use my voucher?

Please login to your free account.  Simply go to your desired workshop and select 'Register'.  If the workshop is of equal or lesser value and it has not already sold out, your voucher will be offered as a form of payment.  Please see our policies page for regulations by clicking here

In what order will I perform?

Workshop performance order is determined by the order in which you registered. Sign up early to get an early slot.  This is applicable for 1-on-1 workshops only. In classroom-style and cold-reading workshops the industry guest sets the order. If you need to leave early, you are welcome to try to trade your spot number with someone who is earlier on the roster.  ACW does not facilitate this, but is left up to you to arrive to class early and politely find someone with whom to trade.

What if I need to leave early or come late?

We will never sell your spot if you are running late.  With a few exceptions, you will always be allowed to perform as long as the CD is still reading people when you arrive.  If you need to leave early, you are welcome to try to trade your spot number with someone who is higher on the roster.  ACW does not facilitate this, but is left up to you to arrive to class early and politely find someone with whom to trade.

What is the format of your workshops?

-Each of our guests set their own syllabus so it could be different each time.  We always list the syllabus for each teacher on their class page on our website.

Here are some possible formats:

1) You get to bring in 2 copies of a 2 - 3 minute scene of your choice and then read one-on-one privately with a reader.  In order of sign up, so register early to get an in first.  If you need help finding a scene, you will have access to our online library after registration.

2) The CD will provide sides that we send out 24 hours before your workshop.  These workshops tend to be run "class room style", where you watch others perform.

3) Cold reads.  The CD brings in material to assign in class and gives about 10-15 minutes to prepare.  Sometimes you are assigned a partner and others you will read with the CD.  These are always done "class room style."

Why don't you advertise the agents attending the showcase?

Due to the SAG/AFTRA rules, we can't use the agents name's as a way to 'sell' the workshop. We are only allowed to give that info to people who have already 'bought' the workshop separate from using the agents names. I know, other workshop places break this rule, but we prefer to respect your union and it's regulations.  Once we receive your deposit, we can send you the names.  If you are not completely satisfied with the agents, we will be happy to issue you a full refund as long as you request it within three days.

Where do I see how much credit I have?

Please login to your free account.  Click on 'My Account' in the upper right hand corner.  Then click on 'My Info.'  Credit on file is automatically applied to your order at checkout.

Where do I park?

Please arrive 10-15 min early for check in.  There is plenty of free street parking on Olive Ave. and side streets. DO NOT park in the lot adjacent to our building.  The Ribs restaurant will have you towed!

How come the system won't let me have a voucher?

Vouchers can only be issued if it's more than 48 hours before your class or workshop.  Also, in any 4-week class you can get one voucher.  In any 6-week class you can get 2 vouchers. We do not offer vouchers for special evens, showcases, sale items, or any class or workshop that was purchased at a discounted rate.  You can read all our policies by clicking here.

It's less than 48 hours before my workshop so I know I can't get a voucher. Is there anything else I can do?

Yes!  First, please find the workshop page on our website and click 'Late Cancel' so we know you'd like to release your seat.

Then, you are welcome to send a friend in your place.  All you have to do is email us their name and email address for the roster.

If the workshop sells out and we are able to sell your seat to someone from the wait list, we'll be able to offer you a voucher.  If we are successful we'll email you an update.

If we’re not able to fill your seat, and you're not able to find a friend to send in your place, you are always welcome come to your workshop a little late or leave a little early if you think you might be able to make it work.

How long do I have to use my voucher?

What are my payment options?

Classes and workshops usually run 2 to 3 hours depending on the teacher set syllabus, the number of students, and the depth of questions you ask.

How big are your classes?

Our average class size is 10 - 12 students and our maximum is 22.  This is less than the industry standard.  We believe in small personal classes where each student works every single class!
